GPSC Exam: Age Criteria
- The age limit of the candidates must range between 20- 35 years.
- Relaxation for Scheduled caste(SC) and Scheduled tribes (ST) is 5 years.
- Relaxation for the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category is 3 years.
- Relaxation for women (in reserved category) is 10 years.
- Relaxation for women (in general category) is 5 years.
- No relaxation in the upper limit is given to a government servant.
- Relaxation of 10 years is given to physically disabled candidates
GPSC Exam: Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized board with 55 percent of aggregate marks.
- Candidates should have an adequate command of Gujarati, Hindi, and English languages.

GPSC 2023: Selection Process
- Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is conducted in three stages- Prelims, Mains and Interview. Details regarding the same are mentioned below:
- It is the preliminary exam consists of two question papers that are objective in nature. Each paper carries 200 marks making a total of 400. The time allotted for each paper is 3 hours.
- Mains examination consists of 6 papers that are descriptive in nature. Each paper carries 150 marks making a total of 900. The time allotted for each paper is 3 hours.
- is a personal interview, which is conducted for the candidates who qualify Mains. It carries 100 marks where students are evaluated on the basis of their personality, suitability for the position, awareness and character.
- Thus, a total of 1000 marks is considered for the final selection and the preparation of the merit list.
- Candidates who qualify all the selection stages get considered for the desired posts. Thus it is crucial to study as per the latest GPSC exam pattern and syllabus to get a good score. Make sure to apply as per the latest GPSC form filling date.
GPSC EXAM pattern 2023:
-Among the said advertisements, advertisement number: 44, 45 and 46/2023-24 will be selected on the basis of total marks by calculating 50% weightage of the marks obtained out of 300 marks in the preliminary test and 50% weightage of the marks obtained in the face-to-face interview out of 100 marks. That is, 50-50 percent weightage will be given to the marks obtained out of 300 and 100 marks in the preliminary test and face-to-face interview respectively. In the preliminary examination, 100 questions of 100 marks will be from general studies and 200 questions will be from related subjects. (Candidates securing less than 15% marks in the preliminary test in all advertisements will not be considered for face-to-face interview.)
